Overview
Prompt Me Teleprompter (“the App”) is a teleprompter and video recording app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is handled.
Data Collection
Prompt Me Teleprompter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. The teleprompter and video recording features operate entirely offline. When needed for in-app purchases, the App may contact Apple’s App Store or Google Play to display products, complete purchases, verify your subscription or lifetime purchase status, or restore purchases.
Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions solely to provide its core functionality:
- Camera — Used to display a live camera preview and record video. Video is recorded locally on your device only.
- Microphone — Used to record audio alongside video. Audio is stored locally on your device only.
- Photo Library / Storage — Used to save recorded videos to your device’s photo library or a folder you choose. The App does not access or read existing photos or videos.
- File Access — Used to import script files (TXT, PDF, DOCX) that you select through the system file picker. The App only reads files you explicitly choose.
Data Storage
All data stays on your device:
- Scripts are saved locally using your device’s app storage.
- Videos are saved to your device’s photo library (iOS) or a folder you select (Android).
- Preferences (font size, resolution setting) are stored locally on your device.
No data is uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.
In-App Purchases
The App offers a monthly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The App itself does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, payment method, billing address, or any other personal or financial information related to these purchases. Apple and Google handle billing under their own privacy policies.
The App stores a record of your active entitlement (subscription or lifetime status) locally on your device only. This record may be checked with Apple or Google when the App verifies entitlement or when you choose to purchase or restore purchases, and it contains no personal information.
Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The only external services the App contacts are Apple’s App Store and Google Play, solely for in-app purchase product display, purchase processing, purchase restoration, and entitlement verification.
Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
